The author Tolstoy argues that art is, at its truest sense, a way to communicate emotions. He says that art exists as a form of communication deeper than simple conversation that is able to transfer the experience and emotions of the artist to the audience.

Is he right?

When you read my words, do you feel the loneliness? Can you feel the flesh of my palm pressed against yours as I reach through the gap that I have created?

I can feel my heart pounding in my chest. Life is flowing through my veins, sharp and hot and free. Can you feel it in the warmth of my palm? Can you hear my shuddering sense of relief?

Will you keep holding my hand?
